President's Message

CFAEP Friends and Colleagues,

I am honored to take on the role as the President of the Central Florida Chapter of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals (CFAEP). On behalf of the Membership and the CFAEP Board of Directors, I would like to extend my thanks to my predecessor, Josh Hirten with CDM, for his excellent work and commitment during the last two years.

I also want to thank our Sponsors because our achievements would not have been possible without their continued support and dedication to CFAEP.

I know and have built relationships with many of you through CFAEP; however, for those I have not met, let me share with you my path towards becoming involved with this noteworthy organization.  I started my career in the environmental industry in 1992 and have worked for a variety of environmental drilling and remediation companies including, Groundwater Protection and Florida Environmental Compliance Corporation (FECC, Inc).  In 2010, I was elected to the Board of CFAEP and have since participated in many roles during my 13 years of service with CFAEP.  I found this group provided not only great networking and community service opportunities, but also great new friends throughout the many FAEP’s Chapters across the state.

The next upcoming two years offer our members the opportunity to participate in various networking events, including a night with the Orlando Magic, Trivia night, and a joint golf outing with the Tampa Bay Area chapter.  We also will host six (6) networking informative luncheon events each year with amazing presentations provided by local environmental professionals in the industry covering a range of topics from ecological issues, remediation efforts, new Government regulations, and local development and water resources.  

In 2023, the Board’s and my priorities will be to (1) engage our members to become even more involved with CFAEP, both on the Chapter and State level, and (2) help our members grow professionally, whether that’s by networking or serving the community with events provided by CFAEP.

A huge part of 2024 will be CFAEP’s opportunity to host the 2024 Florida Association of Environmental Professionals Conference here in Orlando.  The conference brings together all the State’s local chapters and provides an opportunity to learn, network, and spend time with colleagues from across the State.  We look forward to the great event and opportunity to showcase why CFAEP is one of the State’s top chapters.

I would like to encourage each one of you to get involved in any of the CFAEP’s activities or become more active with many of our events or the Conference next year.  As always, if you have any suggestions about how we can improve our effectiveness, please contact us.

I’m looking forward to a fantastic 2023-2024, and I am grateful for your partnership and dedication to our chapter to make it all possible!
